I need some laughter in my life. When this blog goes off on some tangent, it usually causes me to think new things about how things work. I have worked out a couple of things that were so obvious that I simply could not see them because of the topics on this blog.

What an honest, sincere well-meaning prof, plainly articulate to boot.... and see how nasty and stupid the interviewer is with his supposed rational ‘important‘ questions, supporting who knows what - he doesn’t even know himself - just being frightened and stiff facing someone who somehow is perceived as a ‘threat‘ to the present arrangement.

He should have gone into the fact that in many areas of science the US is completely out of the loop, gone, it’s game over. If no real learning, no advances in technology, science, just bowing down to corporate masters and pretending to do x y and z to serve stockholders and banks etc.
