Though the American public people were obviously aware of what was going on in Europe during World War II, they had no pressing reason to need, or want, to become involved.Did Roosevelt therefore conclude that a major event, directly involving the American people, was required in order to sway their opinion and secure their backing for his war plans?
Was Pearl Harbor allowed to happen because there was no other way for America to justifiably enter the war?
