The Sudan, one of the poorest countries in the world, and the largest country in Africa, is potentially a source for more oil than even that which is in Saudi Arabia. One hitchj" the Northern part of the country consists mostly of Muslims identifying with Arab states and oppossed in an endless civil war with the South, a section that is mostly Christian and identifying with Africa.
