PSA: Parroting your Opponent's Language is Not Smart Strategy
If you've ever looked over the amsam sidebar, you might have seen this quote:

"The basic tool for the manipulation of reality is the manipulation of words. If you can control the meaning of words, you can control the people who must use the words."

--Philip K. Dick

This couldn't be more true than for this new phrase 'surge.' WTF? Surge is just another phrase for MORE TROOPS. So why are they using SURGE? Because it sounds BETTER than MORE TROOPS. SURGE sounds more modern - connotes power, connotes something technical because it involves electricity . . . SURGE is something a roadie or IT professional might produce. SURGE AND ACCELERATE? Oh man, even better. It's like a freakin' video game.

IT'S NOT A VIDEO GAME. DO NOT PARROT THEIR PROPAGANDISTIC BULLSHIT PHRASES LIKE 'SURGE AND ACCELERATE.'

Freedom Surge is just another word for nothing left to lose 'more troops' - and no progressive should ally the neocons by parroting it. You parrot neocon language without thinking and you become a neocon bitch.

Bush wants MORE TROOPS. More troops when the American people already voted against having ANY troops there.

etc.
